Cookie Policy

Side Hustle Industries (Pty) Ltd (registration number 2017/160438/07), South Africa ("SHI", "we", "us")

Website: https://sidehustle.industries

Version: 1.0. Effective: 8 October 2026.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device (computer, phone or tablet) when you visit it. Websites also use similar technologies, such as pixels, tags, scripts, local storage and SDKs, that store or read information on your device. In this policy, "cookies" includes all of these.

Cookies set by us are "first-party" cookies. Cookies set by another company through our site (for example Google) are "third-party" cookies. Some cookies are deleted when you close your browser ("session" cookies). Others stay until they expire or you delete them ("persistent" cookies).

2. How we use cookies

We use two kinds of cookies.

Essential cookies are strictly necessary for the website to work and be secure: keeping you signed in, protecting forms against fraud, distributing traffic across our servers, and remembering your cookie choices. We do not need your consent for these, and you cannot switch them off in our Cookie settings. You can block them in your browser, but parts of the site may then not work.

Non-essential cookies are used only if you agree:

  • Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors use the site (for example, which pages are popular) so that we can improve it.
  • Advertising and marketing cookies let us and our advertising partners measure how well our ads work and show you more relevant ads on other websites and platforms. We don't use any advertising cookies at the moment.

We do not set non-essential cookies until you click Accept all or switch a category on in Cookie settings and click Save choices. We apply this approach to all visitors, wherever you are.

3. Cookies we use

This list comes from a scan of our site on 8 October 2026. Durations are the maximum; your browser may delete cookies sooner (Chrome, for example, caps cookies at 400 days).

Advertising

None currently. If we start an ad campaign, we'll list its cookies here and ask for your consent before they load.

We don't currently set any advertising cookies, and we don't use Meta, LinkedIn, X or other advertising pixels.

Our hosting site, hosting.sidehustle.industries, shares our sidehustle.industries domain, so analytics and advertising cookies set there, now or in the past (such as _ga, _ga_T14QXGLS9Q and _gcl_au), can also be visible on this site. If you reject or withdraw consent, we delete the ones we can reach.

Google may also set its own cookies on google.com or doubleclick.net under Google's own policies. See How Google uses cookies.

We use Google Consent Mode (v2) in Basic mode. This means Google's analytics and advertising tags do not load until you consent, and they are told whether you have consented. By default, analytics storage, advertising storage, the sending of advertising-related user data to Google, and ad personalisation are all set to "denied". They change to "granted" only if you accept the relevant category. If you reject, or withdraw consent later, Google tags will not load, and will not read or write analytics or advertising cookies on your device.

5. Third parties

If you consent, the following third parties may set or read cookies through our site and receive information about your visit. They may process that information in other countries, including the United States, and use it under their own privacy policies:

Our contact form uses Google reCAPTCHA, which sends device and browser information to Google to check you're not a bot. Google's Privacy Policy and Terms apply.

Where we transfer personal information outside South Africa, the UK or the EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards required by law (for example, POPIA section 72, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement / Addendum, or EU Standard Contractual Clauses, as applicable).

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time by clicking Cookie settings in the footer of any page. Withdrawing is as easy as giving consent. When you withdraw, we stop using the relevant cookies and delete the first-party non-essential cookies we can access. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of anything done before you withdrew.

We remember your choice for 6 months. After that, or sooner if we make significant changes to the cookies we use, we will ask you again.

You can also control cookies in your browser settings (block, delete, or warn before cookies are set), and opt out of personalised ads at https://adssettings.google.com.

Global Privacy Control: if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of advertising cookies and of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising, as required by California law.

7. Your rights by region

  • UK / EEA: you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability, and you can complain to the UK ICO (ico.org.uk) or the Irish Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie) or your local supervisory authority.
  • South Africa: you have rights under POPIA, including to object to processing and to complain to the Information Regulator (inforegulator.org.za).
  • California: you have the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information, and to limit the use of sensitive personal information. SHI does not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising without your opt-in consent through our Cookie settings, and honours GPC.
  • Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Cayman Islands, Bahamas, BVI: you have the access, correction and complaint rights provided by your local privacy law.

See our Privacy Policy for full details. If anything our Privacy Policy says about cookies differs from this Cookie Policy, this Cookie Policy applies.

To show that we have your consent, we keep a record of your cookie choice: a random consent ID, the date and time, the categories you chose, and the version of this policy. We do not store your full IP address for this purpose.

We may update this policy when our use of cookies changes. The version number and effective date at the top show the latest version. If we add new non-essential cookies or purposes, we will ask for your consent again.
